Engineers and construction experts nowadays advocate the use of concrete insulated form. They find these forms as perfect pieces of engineering that are of great innovative design to make construction work an ease, and that too with the guarantee of highly sturdy and properly insulated structures. These forms were earlier used in massive works of construction, like dams, bridges and all such projects where readymade parts of bigger units were brought from other place to the site, and joined together. The concrete insulated form are, double walled units that have diverse uses in construction of a house’s walls, floors etc. The units have two walls, and the space or gap between the two walls are left vacant with just a framework of steel or iron rod structures for additional strength and support. They are then brought to the construction site, and then stacked one over the other in case of a wall, or one beside another in case of a floor.

The stacking is done without cementing just by the dry mortar method. The weight of the forms is enough to leave no spaces in between the forms. In case of floors, they are arranged in such a packed way, that there is no room for air in between. Then after arranging the forms together to make the basic floor or wall, the gap between the interior and exterior wall of the forms, are filled in by cement. This exact pattern of construction makes the structures insulated.
